Many glass processors begin with compact, cost‑efficient machines that fit their everyday orders. Over time, however, customer requirements shift toward larger formats and more flexible edge processing. When this happens, smaller machines quickly reach their physical limits, and companies need a simple way to modernise without moving into a higher price class. For this case, LiTROS offers practical and cost‑efficient solutions for companies taking their first steps into industrial glass processing.

Upgrading an entire production line is often unnecessary. What many processors need is a solution that preserves their existing investment while extending their capabilities. This is where the expanded LiTROS Combifin comes in.
#### **A practical extension for 4‑meter glass**
With the new extension, the LiTROS Combifin can now process glass up to 4 m in length (including polishing, grinding and interior processing) while remaining in the same cost-effective machine category. The downstream modules of the line, such as interior processing and washing, were already independent of glass length. With the LiTROS Combifin upgrade, the entire line can now continuously produce 4 × 2 m glass sheets.
For processors, this means the existing layout can often remain unchanged. The minimum line length for such a configuration starts at around 24.5 m, allowing businesses to quickly assess whether the upgrade fits their hall space.
#### **Designed for visible‑edge applications**
The extended LiTROS Combifin is especially relevant for glass products where the edge finish is visible – from shower enclosures to room dividers and interior or façade elements. These markets increasingly demand larger glass dimensions, and the new 4‑meter capability opens up additional project types for processors who previously relied on smaller equipment.
#### **Modular handling options when needed**
Optional add‑ons like buffer stations or robot loading can support smoother material flow. These modules are not required but useful when teams want more stable handling or basic automatised support. Smaller processors can add these elements gradually as their order volume grows.

The Combifin uses a split processing principle: while one glass sheet is handled on the outer edge, another can already move into interior processing.
